Really, I can't blog. I feel like it requires a certain quality that I just don't possess. I need a story...something to talk about. I'm barely even imaginative enough to make something up. I need a story that seems to clash with my personality (boring); something exciting that elicits gasps and an "oh my" after every sentence. Like spending time in prison; or walking away unscathed from a horrible run in with a huge semi. I could make it content rich; drown out the mundane text with exciting pictures of my daily life. You know, blurry closeups and shots of my crazy cat. How about posting links to all the crazy places on the web with pointless reviews of each location that no one will bother to read since they would rather click on the link and find out for themselves.

Everyone seems to have direction...it can't be that hard to find, right? How about brain storming:

I could blog about...
  • My cat
  • My fiancée's dog
  • Cooking
  • Working a boring IT job
  • Books
  • Gadgets that I can't afford
  • Filming my cat attacking my fiancée's dog with my new $500 camera while searching through a Citrix manual to fix a problem for a user at work who also has questions regarding the proper length of time to proof their enriched white bread dough.
That last one might be a bit too much. In the end there is one other quality with other bloggers possess which I seriously lack: the ability to write multiple times a day, at length, about subjects that interest them in such a way that other people will find interesting as well. Of course, even though I may not be blogger material, I think I'll make a few attempts. Hopefully at some point I'll being to find something worthwhile to write about.

Today's Fortune

A very thoughtful girl packed my lunch today...left over Chinese food. My first thought this morning as I pulled the sack out of the fridge was about how horrible my breath would be around 12:30 this afternoon. Luckily, most of the work that I'm doing at the moment keeps me in my office, so no one else will have to suffer the stench of spicy chicken and shrimp wafting from my mouth.

What would have been to my surprise , had she not mentioned it as I walked out the door this morning, was a fortune cookie that had been carefully placed in the bag with the rest of my lunch. After finishing off the tastiest portion of the meal I broke open the cookie and found the following:

Hmmmm...not really sure where I'm going to collect them from. Maybe it's talking about the goods I owe to everyone else; it might be a warning letting me know that all those hungry debt collectors are going to start knocking at my door. Maybe today's fortune is telling me I need a hobby of some sort; I need to start collecting something. When it comes to hobbies, I really have nothing solid at the moment. In fact, I can't think of the last time I had a true hobby. Basically, nothing can really hold my interest for any lengthy period of time. Looking at all the RSS feeds pumping into my Reader account each day, it's obvious that I can't settle on anything specific. In a way I'm satisfied with that: moving from one topic to another; it keeps me from getting too bored.
